Learning from the original Rampion Offshore Wind Farm

Rampion 2 is an extension of the existing Rampion offshore wind farm. Our experiences in planning and constructing Rampion inform our plans for the extension.

Find out about how the original project was built and the legacy it comes with below.

Rampion 1 Legacy

Legacy Fund

The original Rampion project committed £4million to a community fund, made up of:

  • £3.1 million fund managed by Sussex Community Foundation, for local projects to benefit the Sussex community
  • £800,000 invested in the Rampion Visitor Centre located in the refurbished arches on Brighton seafront
  • £100,000 donation to local RNLI stations who help save lives at sea

Construction videos

Discover the construction techniques that were used and the key challenges faced during the original Rampion construction.  Should consent be awarded, it’s likely that similar construction methodologies will be used for Rampion 2.
